About Us
WHO WE ARE
The Orthodox Christian Youth Network Uganda (OCYNU) is a registered non-governmental organization (NGO) founded in 2016, led, and managed entirely by Orthodox Christian youth in Uganda. OCYNU is an independent youth organization and is not institutionally affiliated with any Orthodox Church jurisdiction, diocese, or ecclesiastical authority. While the Network may collaborate with Orthodox Church leaders, clergy, parishes, and dioceses, and may at times operate with or without the blessing of a Bishop depending on the nature of its activities, it remains an autonomous youth-led organization committed to serving young people and communities across Uganda.
Founded on the values of faith, service, leadership, and community transformation, OCYNU provides a platform through which young Orthodox Christians can actively contribute to spiritual growth, social development, environmental stewardship, education, health promotion, and economic empowerment. We believe that young people are not merely the future of society—they are leaders, innovators, and agents of change today.
To build a spiritually grounded, empowered, and transformative generation of young people contributing positively to the Church, society, and sustainable development.
To empower youth through Orthodox Christian values, evangelization, education, socio-economic transformation, environmental stewardship, health promotion, leadership development, and community engagement.

Our mission is to nurture a generation of spiritually grounded, socially responsible, and
economically empowered youth who positively influence their communities through faith-inspired action.
Orthodox Evangelization
Faith remains at the heart of everything we do.
Through youth fellowships, liturgical participation, Bible study sessions, annual camps, retreats, leadership workshops, and discipleship programs, we help young people deepen their understanding of Orthodox Christianity and become active ambassadors of the faith.
Health and Well-being
Healthy communities are the foundation of sustainable development.
OCYNU promotes holistic well-being by addressing physical, mental, emotional, and social health challenges affecting young people.
Through awareness campaigns, education programs, and community outreach, we empower youth to make informed decisions and lead healthier lives.
